Berendsen UK, a provider of innovative industrial textile services to customers in the healthcare, hospitality, industrial, commercial and public sectors, has been shortlisted for three prestigious industry awards. The company will compete in October and November at the NHS in the North West Excellence in Supply Awards, the Laundry and Cleaning News Awards and the LADA Awards.
The NHS in the North West Excellence in Supply Awards take place in Blackpool and Berendsen is shortlisted for its support services.
The company is also nominated for the Best Sustainability Policy at the first Laundry & Cleaning News Awards. Berendsen has invested significantly in practices to minimise its environmental impact. Since 2008, it has cut its water usage by 55.5% – which equates to more than one billion litres of water per year – and reduced its carbon footprint by 26.4%, which is equivalent to the emissions of 4,500 households.
Finally, Berendsen is a contender for the coveted Commercial Laundry of the Year award at the Laundry and Drycleaning Awards (LADAs) ceremony in November. All aspects of its operations are considered, from the ability to consistently meet the needs of customers, to its ethical textiles sourcing strategy and environmentally friendly laundry processes.
'We are delighted to have been shortlisted for three important awards,' said Paul Swift, Business Development Manager at Berendsen. 'This is a significant achievement and is testament to the hard work and commitment that our team members put in day in, day out, to ensure the best possible performance and service for all stakeholders and the environment.'
