Children attending the radiology department at the new Alder Hey Hospital are greeted by a family of cheerful characters known as The Hardleeys.
These friendly, welcoming creatures have been created by Alder Hey Children’s Charity to make patients feel more relaxed and to help distract them from what can be a scary experience.
The Fujifilm team, who recently delivered a fleet of five FDR Go mobiles to the hospital, offered to install an additional graphic on the wall of the radiology waiting area in Alder Hey’s new hospital, to compliment the Hardleeys theming in the main waiting area.
Deborah Garlick, lead radiographer for MRI at the hospital, said: “The fantastic artwork installed by Fujifilm in our waiting room looks brilliant and will be very much appreciated by all our patients, visitors and staff. It will certainly help to put our children at ease and will enhance their hospital experience. We’d like to say a huge thank you to the Fujifilm team for all their help and generosity.”
Radiology staff are thrilled with the vibrant new addition.
Marium Rasheed (pictured), diagnostic paediatric radiographer, said: “The wall graphic installed by Fujifilm in the patient waiting area is spectacularly colourful and has brightened up what was a rather dull and boring space. A splash of colour is just what we need on every wall in Alder Hey, for the children especially.”
John Casson, account manager for Fujifilm, added: "Fuji wanted to help make the department look brighter and to be child-friendly, just like our FDR Go mobiles.
All the wall graphics really make a big difference when you walk in, so when Hilary Stowbridge, radiology service manager, mentioned them to us it seemed like a great opportunity. Fuji is delighted to have been able to help enhance the department for both children and staff."
