Upgraded facilities will enable GPs to provide a wider range of services in a purpose-built environment

Patients and staff in Netherfield, Nottingham, will benefit from a new healthcare facility after Trentside Medical Group moved into its new home.

The long-awaited new surgery in Meadow Road brings modern and spacious healthcare facilities to the town, just meters away from the practice’s previous building.

The clinic had outgrown its old building and, without enough space, the team struggled to expand the range of services they could offer to patients.

The new premises has additional consulting rooms and a pharmacy in a flexible, highly-efficient building capable of expanding further to help meet long-term demand.

Developed and funded by primary care premises specialist, Assura, and delivered by Key Construction; the building includes a light and airy waiting room with an innovative children’s waiting area and a telehealth surgery pod.

Caitriona Kennedy, GP at Trentside Medical Group, said: “We are delighted to be moving into this stunning new building.

“This new surgery shows commitment to the Netherfield community and will bring welcome footfall into the heart of the town and its small businesses.

“The patient experience will also be immeasurably improved, and we look forward to serving our existing patients and the new communities developing in Teale Close and other residential developments.

“We are also lucky enough to have some health education space, which we will look into using to host new ways for our multidisciplinary team to work with our patients.”

The design also incorporates a number of sustainable elements including electric vehicle charging points, and photovoltaic panels, which generates approximately 17% of heating and electricity.
