Karndean Designflooring launches BIM objects collection

All products available as BIM objects prior to Government's impending mandate for public projects

Karndean Designflooring has unveiled its collection of Business Information Modelling (BIM) components, created in partnership with BIMstore.

The new Karndean Designflooring BIMstore features more than 80 wood and stone-effect designs including popular commercial ranges such Opus Enhance, Van Gogh and Da Vinci, and all available for free as BIM objects.

As well as being able to build up a library of digital Karndean floor design components, architects and interior designers can access key technical data and installation information.

Karndean’s decision to create BIM objects comes in response to growing demand for its product portfolio from specifiers and construction companies working on government building projects.

“Having been aware of the Government’s impending mandate for all businesses to be BIM ready by 2016, we’ve been pro-active in ensuring our BIM library offers our most-successful commercial collection at the time of release,” said Matthew Speck, head of commercial sales at Karndean Designflooring.

“We work closely with specifiers on various public and private building projects throughout the UK, so it’s important for us to offer a comprehensive range of our LVT wood and stone designs. Likewise, we will be regularly updating our BIM platform with our latest products and up-to-date technical specifications.”

Karndean Designflooring BIMstore offers floor designs taken from its complete portfolio including Art Select, Da Vinci, Michelangelo, Van Gogh, Opus, Opus Enhance, Michelangelo, Knight Tile and Karndean LooseLay.
