South Manchester installs MasterMover bed-moving equipment

The risk of manual handling injuries has been reduced and porter productivity increased at University Hospital of South Manchester NHS Foundation Trust (UHSM) following investment in special bed-moving machines. Mark Oldfield, business director at UHSM, said: "By investing in three Bed Mover handling tugs from MasterMover, the environment we work in is now much safer. Furthermore, only one porter is now needed to move a bed, which means the productivity of our staff has improved dramatically. The tugs also cater for any bed type, so there are no issues with connecting to the three types of bed at UHSM."
