New fully hands-free disposal unit will set new standards in human waste management

Vernacare will launch a new innovation in hygienic patient toileting and washing at Healthcare Estates 2014 being held on October 7 and 8 at Manchester Central.

The company will introduce its new fully hands-free Vortex disposal unit, a next-generation machine that will set new standards in human waste management.

3D designs for Vernacare's new easy-clean commode chair will also be on show. This product has been developed collaboratively with clinicians to provide a robust, easy-clean design that will help reduce the risk of healthcare associated infections.

Vernacare’s unique single-use waste management system was developed 50 years ago. It works by replacing traditional re-usable waste management products, such as urinals, bedpans and wash bowls, with hygienic containers made from renewable natural fibre. These then disintegrate after use when placed in Vernacare’s environmentally-friendly Vortex disposal machines, which release the miniscule particles down the drain using a fast, cold-water process.

Vernacare is the only company to manufacture a complete single-use human waste disposal system that not only helps to reduce the risk of cross infection, but also improves environmental performance, while saving nursing time and generating cost savings.
