Firm will provide secure off-site storage and archiving for patient records, financial documents and confidential information

Banner Business Services has been awarded new contracts with the NHS to store, manage and securely destroy confidential records.

Banner will provide secure off-site storage and archiving for patient records, financial documents and paper-based confidential information.

NHS trusts and organisations will be able to access these documents quickly and efficiently using Banner’s scanning and rapid retrieval service. Banner has also been awarded the secure destruction contract and will offer both an on-site and off-site shredding and recycling service for confidential documents.

The new contract with the North of England Commercial Procurement Collaborative (NOE CPC) runs from 10 January 2014 to 2017, with an option for further extension. NOE CPC is an NHS collaborative purchasing organisation, owned and funded by a number of NHS trusts, foundation trusts, mental health trusts and other NHS organisations.

“We’re delighted Banner has been awarded this significant new NHS contract” said Richard Costin, managing director of Banner Business Services.

“By choosing our off-site storage solution, NHS trusts can guarantee every patient’s confidentiality and rapidly access their medical records whenever they’re needed. It’s a secure, efficient and cost-effective service that allows organisations to concentrate on their core business.”

Banner already provides office supplies to a number of NHS trusts and currently has contracts for both office supplies and furniture with NHS Supply Chain. Banner also offers a complete lifecycle solution for confidential documents and records, including the award-winning Closed Loop service.
