The hospital has installed MK Electric's Prestige 3D Antibac Blue system in its intensive care unit. Installed by contractor, WMQ, around 55m of trunking has been used as part of a refurbishment programme led by BAM Construction. The solution is designed to kill bacteria that can grow on surfaces through the use of a silver-based additive inside the PVC-u. In independent tests, it was found to kill 99.9% of MRSA and Klebsiella pneumoniae.
