Furniture supplier awarded contract to equip international private patient suite

David Bailey Furniture Systems has been awarded the contract for the refurbishment of the international private patient suite at Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital in London.

The centre of excellence is investing in a thorough refurbishment of a number of its bedrooms; ensuring patient comfort and wellbeing remain a top priority. The furniture installation will include tall units and bedside shelf units from David Bailey’s Healthcare range of fitted furniture, as well as bespoke integrated panels systems, designed to conceal all pipework in washroom areas creating a high-end hygienic finish.

Working alongside contractor, Balfour Beatty, David Bailey Furniture Systems will manufacture and install fitted hospital furniture to the value of £33,000.

Colin Jarrett, contractor at Balfour Beatty, said: “One of the most-important factors in hospitals, especially in hospitals with such far-reaching clinical specialisms such as Great Ormond Street, is hygiene and privacy. The fitters at David Bailey are highly experienced working in a live hospital environment. They understand the need to keep dust levels to a minimum, minimise patient disruption, and strictly obey all access times.”

Trevor Gillman, managing director of David Bailey Furniture Systems, added: “We have been manufacturing furniture specifically for the healthcare industry for 33 years now and we pride ourselves on the service we provide and the quality of our fitted storage solutions.”
