Assistive technology system rollout makes company UK\'s largest independent supplier

Invicta Telecare has become the UK’s largest independent telecare service provider after securing a deal to roll out its First Point in-house monitoring service to Affinity Sutton’s 12,000 lifeline users.

The contract takes the total number of connections for the company to a record 106,000.

The firm has invested heavily in its systems over the past 18 months to ensure they are fit for the future, including launching a new open telecare monitoring platform, UMO, which is provided by Novalarm and enables Invicta to provide tailored services to its customers.

Wendy Darling, managing director of Invicta Telecare, said: “This is a significant milestone for the company. The demand for our telecare services that help people to live independently for longer is set to increase even further as our ageing population increases.

“By 2025 the number of people over the age of 85 is predicted to increase by 70% to 1.9 million. Over the next 50 years the number of over-65s is estimated to rise from 9.3 million to 16.8 million.

“UMO will help us to widen the choice available to our customers, both old and new.”

Paul Shead, managing director of Novalarm, added: “Invicta Telecare now has a state-of-the-art monitoring platform, migrated to a fully digital infrastructure and designed with levels of flexibility, accessibility and reliability that are unsurpassed in the telecare monitoring sector.
