An award-winning architectural practice with offices in Yorkshire and Newcastle has announced key appointments

Promoting two respected and longstanding employees to senior positions, P+HS Architects has welcomed Steve Jordison to the role of Associate and James Gordon to the post of Associate Director.

In his 20+ years at P+HS, Steve Jordison has delivered numerous housing schemes and is the practice’s go-to man for his outstanding knowledge on technical issues and all things residential. Steve will continue to head up technical delivery for P+HS Architects’ residential clients, ensuring consistent high quality. In addition, he will lead on developing the shape and efficiency of the practice’s technical delivery, whilst continuing to mentor many of its rising technical stars across the offices.

James Gordon was one of P+HS Architects’ early employees at its first Leeds office in 2004 progressing to become a senior architect and in 2012 an Associate. James has been instrumental in the design and delivery of many of P+HS’s most successful acute healthcare projects and as a Healthcare Lead, regularly represents the practice at conferences. James also leads on QA and is a key member of the P+HS sustainability group, overseeing the practice’s response to the climate emergency.

Now, as Associate Director James will support the practice at board level, providing a positive influence to help shape P+HS in the years ahead.

Managing Director Chris Dennis said: “The Practice has been running successfully for 37 years now. During that time, we have planned strategically for growth in line with our successful project work in the healthcare and residential sectors and seen our staff grow and go from strength to strength as they continue to deliver outstanding work that enhances lives. The business has continued to perform well throughout the challenging and unprecedented 18 months.

From one office and a handful of staff back in 1984, we now have three successful and sustainable offices through planned growth and a staff of over 80! Encouraging and supporting our staff to progress through the organisation with additional skills, knowledge and responsibility is a huge focus for us and it is always a pleasure to make announcements such as this.

Steve and James’s appointments will further strengthen the organisation as we look ahead to future success.”
