Technology-enabled care services provider proves its commitment to keeping customers’ data secure with industry achievement

Tunstall Healthcare (UK) Ltd has become the first in its market to achieve Level 2 of the Information Governance Toolkit (IGT) as a NHS Business Partner.

IGT is an online tool from NHS England developed by the Health and Social Care Information Centre (HSCIC) that enables organisations to measure their performance against information governance requirements.

“Tunstall is committed to demonstrating to its customers that it has an established IG improvement programme and that it is working to maintain and improve the company’s information governance levels in line with their practices,” said Paul Vessey, IG/IT security and risk officer at Tunstall Healthcare (UK).

“Meeting IGT requirements enables Tunstall to satisfy the highest practical standards for handling patient identifiable information.

Tunstall’s work to meet the IGT standards has also helped it to achieve ISO27001 and ISO20000 international standards for managing information security and for service management respectively.

Vessey said: “As a provider of services to health and social care, we’ve made a significant investment in Information Governance, prioritising the needs of our customers and assuring them that we take our responsibility towards managing their data extremely seriously. Work continues across the business to ensure Tunstall continues to improve its approach to IG.”
