THE winners of the annual National Hospital Radio Awards have been announced
THE winners of the annual National Hospital Radio Awards have been announced.
Scooping a Gold Award in the Special Event category was Radio Brockley, London's longest-running hospital radio station based at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital. The team picked up the gong for their broadcast coverage of the opening of the new outpatient assessment centre. Trustee, Alan Joyce, said of the accolade: “I am so pleased that many moths of hard work and preparation for this event has been recognised and given the highest possible praise.”

- Bronze: Radio Redhill
Male Presenter of the Year Award;
- Gold: Richard Palmer, Radio Cherwell
- Silver: Mark Keavney, Hospital Radio Basingstoke
- Bronze: Andrew Hill, Hospital Radio Plymouth
Female Presenter of the Year Award:
- Gold: Louise Croombs, Hospital Radio Reading
- Silver: Anita Hepple, HWD Hospital Radio
- Bronze: Shelley Nobile, Radio Grapevine
Special Event Award:
- Gold: New outpatients department, Radio Brockley
- Silver: Spirit of Christmas, Whipps Cross Hospital Radio

Best Speech Package Award:
- Gold: Durham Cathedral, Radio Tyneside Network
