Worcester plans radiotherapy centre

Published: 20-Sep-2011

A PLANNING application has been submitted to build Worcestershire's first radiotherapy centre. The proposals seek outline permission for a new facility and 12 parking spaces on land currently used as an A and E car park at Worcestershire Royal Hospital. A further application for full planning permission relates to a new 401-space car park on adjacent land which will replace the spaces lost. Public consultation events will be held this month to gather reaction to the plans and a decision is expected by the end of the year. The proposals are part of the Worcestershire Oncology Project, which is working to develop a world-class radiotherapy facility by the end of 2013.
