£3.2m primary care facility to provide a range of services under one roof

Work to build a new primary care centre in Danbury, Essex, has started.

Assura Group is developing the 13,000sq ft facility in partnership with Ashley House at a value of £3.2m including costs.

Once finished and furnished, the space will operate as a neighbourhood medical centre, offering patients a range of primary care services in one location.

The new health centre will provide a range of consulting and treatment spaces for the Danbury Medical Centre surgery including a dispensary and minor surgery suite. The project was forward funded by Assura Group to upgrade the existing practice and will support the delivery of integrated care services to the local community.

Andrew Darke, managing director of property at Assura Group, said: “It’s excellent to see the Danbury healthcare scheme get off the ground. The new practice facilitates the delivery of a higher standard of care for the local area, building a sustainable healthcare culture for patients and staff.”

Lindsey Hunt, managing partner at Danbury Medical Centre, added: “The development of a new practice is a transformative step for both the practice staff and members of the wider community, who rely on us for the best possible quality of guidance and resources.”
