GenesisCare expands Milton Keynes cancer centre with advanced CT scanner and radiotherapy technology

GenesisCare has completed a major technology upgrade at its specialist outpatient cancer care centre in Milton Keynes.

The new installation consists of diagnostic imaging and radiotherapy equipment designed to enhance cancer treatment delivery and patient access.

The investment includes a Siemens Somatom X.cite CT scanner and an Elekta EVO Linear Accelerator.

The Siemens Somatom X.cite CT scanner allows for faster scan times and improved diagnostic imaging.

Faster scan time support improved patient experience and hospital resource use, and the enhanced image clarity helps the clinical teams.

Alongside the imaging upgrade, GenesisCare has installed an Elekta EVO Linear Accelerator equipped with advanced image-guided radiotherapy capabilities.

The system incorporates a HexaPOD six degrees-of-freedom couch, enabling sub-millimetre patient positioning accuracy for a range of radiotherapy treatments, including complex Stereotactic Ablative Radiotherapy (SABR) procedures and high-dose treatment delivery.
