Derby Hospitals Spring Music Season returns

Published: 18-Mar-2011

Derby Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust's Uplifting Spring Music Season has returned for its sixth year. The series is performed by soloists and ensembles and is run by Derby Hospitals' arts programme, air, which aims to provide positive distraction and enhance the hospital environment. The performances are held in busy places across both the Royal Derby Hospital and London Road Community Hospital sites, attracting on average between 300-1,000 people a time. Arts co-ordinator, Juliet Cooper, said: "These small musical interludes, brought to us by some of the city's finest musicians, are really valuable in the busy life of Derby Hospitals. The shows will run until 15 April and will include flamenco guitar music, folk music and a string quartet.
