Construction giant to take forward Northumberland Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust's estates plan

NTW Solutions, a subsidiary of Northumberland Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust, has selected Sir Robert McAlpine as its preferred delivery partner for a five-year strategic partnership expected to generate at least £50m of construction turnover through a range of minor and major capital works.

This announcement, Sir Robert McAlpine’s first award from the Pagabo National Framework for Major Construction Works, sees a strategic relationship designed to embrace and support service users, carers, staff and members of the public.

The successful completion of this programme of works will ensure that Northumberland Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust continues to perform at a consistently-high level and one that continues to modernise and reform its services.

This will be in line with local and national strategies and the needs of individuals and communities, providing first-class care in first-class environments.

John Carson, NTW Solutions’ head of capital development and planning, said: “We are delighted that we can continue to attract high-caliber construction companies.

“This seems like a good fit and early integration has been extremely positive.

“I’m sure combining our technical expertise will boost our capabilities and capacity for delivering the trust’s capital programme.”

Mark Gibson, Sir Robert McAlpine’s managing director for the North East, added:“This is an extremely-significant appointment for us nationally and locally, as it the first contract awarded to us through the PAGABO National Framework for Major Construction Works and builds on our delivery of mental health projects such as those delivered for Tees, Esk & Wear Valley NHS Foundation Trust.”
