Easy-to-operate products specified for John Radcliffe Hospital facility

Vision panels from Vistamatic have been installed in a new women’s centre at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford.

Specified by contractor, Siska Construction; the privacy vision panels have been integrated into doorsets from RB Doors in the UPS room, prep rooms, operating theatre, scrubroom, and staff room within the building, which provides maternity, gynaecology, and neonatal services.

A mixture of FD30 & FD60 fire-rated vision panels were used, which compliment the doors which are lipped in oak and have white Formica facings.

The panels were only required to be operable from one side, within the room, so lever handles were chosen as these are chromium plated, easy to clean, and suited for either hand or elbow operation.

Vistamatic was also engaged to work with Medical Air Technology for the project, supplying a lever-operated VISTA-Slide observation screen, which operates in a lateral fashion with the linear design moving vertically from side to side.
