The Leader of Hinckley & Bosworth Borough Council, Councillor Stuart Bray, has urged the NHS to reconsider plans to demolish the historic frontage of Mount Road hospital in Hinckley.

The call follows a planning application proposing the demolition of the Victorian building as part of a new Day Case Unit development.

In a letter to NHS Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland Integrated Care Board, Councillor Bray welcomed long-awaited healthcare improvements for the town but expressed disappointment at the proposed loss of a valued heritage asset.
