Visitors attending the Exhibition at Design in Mental Health in June will benefit from a full programme of up to 12 hours of expert presentations included with their free ticket.
Design in Mental Health is the annual event dedicated to exploring how environments shape outcomes across mental health. Each year it provides a free-to-attend Exhibition showcasing the latest specialist products and services for the mental health built-environment, and a premium multi-stream Conference for paying delegates.
Conference Delegates in 2025 will benefit from the most extensive multi-format programme in the event’s history, featuring a line-up of global thought-leaders, experts-by -experience and leading practitioners.
And, in an innovation designed to help all NHS teams access up-to-date information and new ideas for improving and maintaining their facilities, the event’s organisers have added an additional theatre within the Exhibition Hall, open to both paying Conference Delegates and Exhibition Visitors who attend on a free pass.
Titled the Design and Digital Solutions Theatre, the presentations on this stage will cover a cross-section of subjects critical to NHS organisations, including:
- Digitalisation
- Staff Safety
- Patient-centred Design
- Fire Safety and Protection
- Sustainability
Presentations will be delivered by a diverse range of speakers including practitioners from the NHS, academics from leading universities, and product and service design experts from companies with specialist expertise in the mental healthcare sector.
Event Director, Mel Sands said, “We’ve reacted to the need for NHS organisations to stay connected to a source of up-to-date and reliable information, despite increasingly stretched budgets. At this time of transformation, it’s more important than ever for everyone responsible for the mental health built-environment to come together and share knowledge and experience.
“The UK has a world-class community of designers, people with lived experience, clinicians, decision-makers, and suppliers focused on mental health. Design in Mental Health is a forum for that community to come together, share the knowledge, and have the conversations to drive continuous improvement and promote the spread of best practice for the benefit of service users.
“The launch of the Design and Digital Solutions Theatre is a key part of our commitment as an event to facilitate that dialogue and collaboration. By providing access to more quality stimulus, we’re helping more of our attendees have meaningful conversations that uncover ideas and solutions they can take back and implement.
“We’ve got a number of high-quality speakers lined up already, and some very exciting conversations going on with other potential contributors as we speak.
“We’ll also be inviting selected winners of our 2025 Awards to take part in special live interviews on the second day of the event, as another angle on sharing what works and what excellence looks like in practice.
“More speaker announcements will be coming soon – keep an eye on the event website for updates.”
