ModuleCo handed over an orthopaedic surgical hub at Montagu Hospital, delivered in partnership with Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (DBTH), Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (BH) and The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust (RF).
The cutting-edge healthcare facility was manufactured to 90% complete off-site at ModuleCo’s specialist manufacturing centre and features twin operating theatre suites and a recovery ward.

The orthopaedic surgical hub opened its doors to patients in mid-January 2023 and was expected to see over 2,000 orthopaedic procedures in its first year.
The modular facility was officially opened during a ribbon-cutting ceremony in late December 2023 attended by Suzy Brain England OBE (DBTH), Sheena McDonnell (BH) and Kamran Malik (TRFT), chairpersons of each partner Trust involved in the project.

At the opening event, Suzy Brain England OBE said: “Here we stand in a state-of-the-art facility which is a testament to the things we can achieve when we work together for the betterment of our patients. I know I speak for all of my colleagues here when I say that I hope the MEOC is just the first in a long line of such projects – initiatives where we are able to pool our collective know-how in order to provide the very best services for those we serve in Doncaster, Barnsley, Rotherham as well as the wider South Yorkshire region.”
