ASSA ABLOY becomes one of first companies to offer high-security timber and steel doorsets tested to SR4 standard

ASSA ABLOY Security Doors has become one of the first companies to offer high-security timber and steel doorsets tested to SR4 standard in accordance with Issue 7 of the LPS1175 standard.

The Safeguard timber range includes inward and outward opening, double and single doors that are compliant with LPS1175 SR4 standard – making ASSA ABLOY Security Doors the only manufacturer on the market to offer double leaf timber doors that open inwardly with this certification.

Brian Sofley, managing director, said: “We’re extremely proud of our latest testing achievement. Reaching SR4 Issue 7 of the LPS1175 standard means we can offer specifiers and building managers the most-advanced solution on the market.

“It is not normally acceptable to have a door opening out into a corridor, so we are pleased that our inward opening timber doorsets offer an aesthetically-pleasing solution that can be used to secure internal rooms off corridors.”

Vision panels are available for both the certified timber and steel doorsets, allowing the clearest visibility and transfer of light available on the market, without compromising the security performance of the door. The panels are available in standard single size and as multiple vision panels and assist in meeting the requirements under The Equality Act .

The comprehensive range of independently-tested steel and timber doorsets will be certified for a wide range of locking options, including electro-mechanical locking, which is ideal for access control requirements.

The Powershield steel door range includes outward-opening single and double-leaf doors with an improved frame design, which is more suitable for commercial environments.
