Sir Robert McAlpine has partnered with Bridgit to implement an AI-powered construction workforce planning platform across its UK operations.
Bridgit, which provides workforce planning technology for the construction sector, recently expanded into the UK market.
Sir Robert McAlpine is a UK-based construction and civil engineering contractor that delivers major building and infrastructure projects, including hospitals, commercial developments, stadiums, and public sector schemes.
According to SRM, the platform will replace manual spreadsheet-based processes with a centralised system capable of analysing workforce data, including availability, certifications, location and project experience.
The software uses AI-driven tools to help project teams allocate employees to schemes based on skills, experience and availability.
The tool also allows for workforce forecasting and team visibility across active and future projects.
SRM said the platform would also support succession planning by helping identify and develop employees for future key roles, alongside improving oversight of team structures and project deployment.
“Our people are our greatest competitive advantage, and ensuring the right talent is in the right place at the right time is central to how we deliver for our clients,” said Nadeem Mirza, Resourcing and Workforce Planning Director at Sir Robert McAlpine.
Industry leaders have also said that using AI to manage talent can help free skilled workers from repetitive or low-value tasks.
Mallorie Brodie, CEO and co-founder of Bridgit, said the partnership reflected increasing demand within the construction industry for digital workforce management tools that support long-term planning and resource visibility.
