University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust (UHL) has secured over £50m of capital funding, marking a leap forward in modernising urgent care and hospital facilities for patients across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.

“The enabling works will mean we can move services and teams into purpose-built facilities and pave the way for the main construction phase of the NHP in 2032,” said Richard Mitchell, UHL Chief Executive.

This landmark investment, sanctioned by NHS England and the national New Hospital Programme (NHP), backs two cornerstone schemes that will reshape patient pathways.
