WSP, a global professional services consultancy, has acquired specialist healthcare and life sciences firm Lexica in a move set to enhance its advisory capabilities within the UK healthcare construction and consultancy market.
The acquisition will see 90 UK-based experts from Lexica join WSP’s Planning, Property and Advisory business, forming a newly created Healthcare and Life Sciences Advisory team.
This expansion marks a significant step in WSP’s ambitions for its advisory services over the next three years, as outlined in the company’s 2025–2027 Global Strategic Action Plan.

Its specialisms include healthcare strategy and planning, property consultancy, cost management, project and programme management, life sciences strategy, digital advisory and transformation, and Net Zero consulting services.
The firm has established a strong reputation within the UK’s health sector for delivering strategic and operational support to NHS trusts, private healthcare providers, and research institutions.
WSP, which operates in over 40 countries and has a well-established UK presence, is one of the world’s leading engineering and professional services consultancies.
The acquisition builds on its recent appointment as a consortium partner in the joint venture delivering the NHS New Hospitals Programme (NHP), the Government’s flagship hospital building initiative.
