Ceiling-mounted LED examination light designed for medical consultation and diagnosis

Daray has launched the X340, a new ceiling-mounted examination light specifically designed for use during the medical consultation and diagnosis stages.

The X340, a sister product to Daray’s X240 medical examination light, features an easy-to-manoeuvre spring balanced arm and telescopic ceiling tube, making the light incredibly versatile. The added flexibility means the X340 is ideal for general practice, but with a reach of 1,000mm, it is also ideally suited for gynaecological procedures; a common pitfall for many general-purpose lights on the market.

Nichola Howard, marketing director of Daray, said: “The importance of medical lighting in accurate diagnosis cannot be underestimated. Flexibility is key for certain procedures, such as gynaecological examinations – one of the most regularly undertaken tasks for GPs – where a light must be underneath a doctor’s hands in order to offer the most-effective light. Our X340 ensures this level of flexibility is available and is complemented by a full range of movement.”

Daray’s X340 makes use of a six LED module to provide an intense, clear white light equivalent to 75W of halogen whilst consuming just 12W; an efficiency improvement of 75%. It features a one-touch variable intensity control and offers 25 years of clinical use which is the equivalent of 50,000 hours.

Howard said: “As with the X240, the X340 examination light also utilises our specially designed BioProtect antimicrobial coating on all painted surfaces to assist with the management of infection control and minimise the risk of bacteria such as MRSA and E.Coli spreading.”
