HCA Healthcare UK has started construction on a new £17m outpatient centre located next to St Paul’s Cathedral and the London Stock Exchange.
The development team for the project includes Ark Build Plc, MESH Construction Consultancy, LSI Architects, CPW, The Richard Stephens Partnership and Fairhurst.
The centre is scheduled to open in early 2027 and will offer private GP appointments, health screening services, specialist outpatient care and advanced diagnostics.
The project has now entered the construction phase following a design development process involving clinical and operational teams from across HCA Healthcare UK.
“We’re working with clinical and operational teams across HCA UK to refine the design and ensure the Centre meets the highest standards of quality, functionality and patient care,” said Emma Osborn, Capital Projects Lead at HCA Healthcare UK.
The organisation recently hosted an opening morning for staff involved in the project, providing an opportunity to review the patient-centred floor plan and learn more about the services that will be delivered from the facility.
Once opened, the St Paul’s Outpatients will be operated by London Bridge Hospital, with specialist consultants joining from across HCA UK’s network, including London Bridge Hospital, Princess Grace Hospital and The Harley Street Clinic.
Specialities such as women’s health, orthopaedics, cardiac services and cancer care will be provided at the centre.
The announcement follows HCA Healthcare UK’s recent expansion of GP and health screening services across London, with the opening of a fertility satellite clinic at Canary Wharf in May.
This month, the provider also invested in increasing access to primary care and preventative health services at their Canary Wharf and Wimpole Street locations.
