New appointments at Gilling Dod

Due to their ongoing success in the healthcare sector, and as part of a long-term business planning, Gilling Dod Architects are delighted to announce some major new appointments at the company.

Gilling Dod Architects states:" These are right across the board and underline our continued growth and commitment to delivering for our clients.

As of 1 st September, Andrew Goodwin and Robin Graham joined the Board as Directors. Both are hugely respected and highly regarded both inside and outside of the Practice. They will be fantastic additions to the Board.

Promoted through our ranks Andrew Goodwin joined us in 2014. A vastly experienced Healthcare Architect, he leads one of our acute teams on the high profile NHP (New Hospital Programme) for East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust, as well as major schemes for Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS FT and North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS FT.

Likewise, Robin Graham, is another home-grown member of the Team after joining us in 2015. For the past six years, he has played a prominent role in delivering many of the Practice’s key mental health projects including the award-winning Red Kite View CAMHS unit for Leeds York Partnership NHS FT. Currently he is leading the £48M RIS:ES project for Sussex Partnership NHSFT as well as Mossley Hill AMHU for Mersey Care NHSFT.

To maintain our strong Associate Director layer, we are also delighted to announce that Adam Richardson and Mark Cowpland will be promoted to Associate Directors at the same time. Both are bedrocks of the Practice, hugely respected and will be invaluable in supporting the new structure and driving the Company forward. Adam Richardson joined Gilling Dod in 2014. He is a highly motivated design professional with extensive knowledge and experience in compliance, detail delivery and standards in healthcare settings. He leads a team which is currently delivering at East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trusts as well as numerous major acute healthcare developments across the UK.

Mark Cowpland has played a pivotal role in the award-winning GDA (Gilling Dod Architects) mental health team, successfully delivering multiple schemes across the country including the major redevelopment of Broadmoor Hospital. Currently delivering the Aspen Wood LD project in Maghull as well as the PHC scheme at Lincoln County Hospital for Lincolnshire Partnership NHSFT. We have also increased our Associate layer in promoting Claire Stelmachowicz and James Sneyd to this role.  Both proven and accomplished Architects, they will complement our already talented Associate layer, adding some more strength and depth especially across the acute healthcare part of our business.

James Sneyd joined GDA in 2020 as an Architect and is currently delivery schemes for Liverpool Women’s Hospitals NHS and Princess Royal University Hospital. James will slot seamlessly into the established and experienced associate team at GDA and continues our long tradition of true patient centred design and meaningful stakeholder engagement.

Claire Stelmachowicz joined GDA in 2019 and has since become a key member of the Gilling Dod architectural team. Currently working on the flagship Alder Hey NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) project, Claire brings a wealth of experience and ability to the role as well as design flair and innovation.
