Scottish and Southern Electricity has recently completed urgent power cable repairs outside the A&E entrance at Hillingdon Hospital, following a fire at Heathrow

Scottish and Southern Electricity recently completed essential repair works on power cables along Pield Heath Road, following the substation fire at Heathrow.

The works, which began on Tuesday, 8 April, continued for two weeks and affected the section of road in front of the Accident & Emergency (A&E) entrance at Hillingdon Hospital, part of The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Temporary traffic lights were in operation daily between 9.30 am and 3.30 pm while the repairs took place.

Motorists and local residents were advised to allow extra time for their journeys and to follow all temporary signage.

Access to the A&E department was maintained throughout the works, although minor delays were experienced at times.

The repairs were essential to ensure the ongoing safety and reliability of the local electricity network, following damage sustained during the incident at Heathrow’s substation.
