This project comprised of multiple complex phases, making the design solution extremely challenging. Having to maintain 50% patient occupancy of the ‘Live’ Ward whilst carrying out intrusive reconfiguration works directly adjacent to incredibly vulnerable and poorly paediatric patients, meant that constant monitoring of noise, dust, vibration, and all other construction activities was carefully managed, ensuring the safety of the staff, patients and carers was the priority at all times.
