X240 features flexible gooseneck arm

Daray has launched the X240, a new medical examination light featuring a spring-balanced arm.

The X240 is a sister product to the X200 examination light, which features a flexible gooseneck arm. While Daray’s latest offering can be used as a general purpose light, the new spring-balanced arm offers ease-of-use, with a 1000mm reach for gynaecological examinations, one of the most-common procedures undertaken by GPs.

Nichola Howard, Daray’s marketing director, said: “The X200 has been one of our most popular examination lights in recent years. However, we understand that a light’s arm can be a personal choice and therefore we wanted to ensure customers had the option of a balanced arm if required.

We have expanded our product range with the X240 to offer a general examination light that can be used for a variety of procedures but meets the requirements of our customers who prefer a balanced arm

“As such we have expanded our product range with the X240 to offer a general examination light that can be used for a variety of procedures but meets the requirements of our customers who prefer a balanced arm. The X240 offers an excellent range of movement, ideally suited for gynaecological examinations.”

As with the X200, the X240 features an 8W LED module, providing a clear light beam and offering excellent colour rendering to ensure skin tones appear completely natural, critical for accurate condition diagnosis. The X240 also offers end users a reduced ‘total cost of ownership’ as the LED module remains unchanged with a lifespan of 50,000 hours, the equivalent of 25 years of normal clinical use.

The X240 utilises Daray’s BioProtect antimicrobial coating to assist with the management of infection control and minimise the risk of bacteria such as MRSA and E.Coli spreading. The light can be mounted in a variety of different ways including desk, wall and rail mountings, with mobile mounting and battery backup power options also available. A ceiling mount option will be available in the near future.

Daray designs and manufactures its products at its factory in Swadlincote, Derbyshire, which is strictly regulated by ISO 13485 and ISO 9001 quality standards.
