Patients at Fleetwood Hospital who suffer from hearing problems are set to benefit from new equipment purchased by a local hospital charity. The League of Friends of Rossall and Fleetwood Hospitals provided just over £4,500 to enable audiologists to buy an Interacoustics Affinity machine, which produces more accurate results from hearing tests and allows hearing aids to be individually programmed to reflect the needs of the patient. Gary Bradshaw, senior chief audiologist at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust said: "This machine has the very latest technology and a lot of new features which offer a wider range of assessments than we had before and can provide more accurate measures for hearing aids. This is a real bonus for local residents because we can provide them with the very best audiology service possible.''
