Fundraisers boost audiology at Fleetwood

FUNDRAISERS have helped to buy a new piece of equipment which will enhance audiology services at Fleetwood Hospital in Blackpool. The League of Friends of Rossall and Fleetwood Hospitals has provided more than £4,500 to buy a state-of-the-art Affinity machine from Interacoustics, which produces far more accurate results from hearing tests and allows hearing aids to be individually programmes to reflect the needs of patients. Senior chief audiologist, Gary Bradshaw, said: "This machine has the very latest technology and a lot of new features, which offer a wider range of assessments than we had before and can provide more accurate measures for hearing aids. This is a real bonus for local residents because we can provide them with the very best audiology service possible."
