Henry Brothers has completed the £12.4m refurbishment and expansion of the Endoscopy Unit at Queen's Medical Centre, increasing capacity for complex diagnostic and therapeutic procedures at the Trust.
Funded by Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust (NUH) and NHS England, the project has transformed the existing endoscopy department into a larger, modern facility.
Henry Brothers began work on the scheme in May 2025.
The redevelopment increases capacity for complex therapeutic endoscopy procedures by 50%, enabling around 1,200 additional patients to be treated each year while helping to reduce waiting times for urgent inpatient procedures.
The upgraded unit includes an admissions area, preparation rooms, three endoscopy treatment rooms, two recovery bays, a discharge room and dedicated staff facilities.
A third procedure room has also been added to support a higher volume of advanced endoscopic procedures.
The refurbishment was completed while endoscopy services remained operational throughout the construction programme.
Over the past year, NUH has carried out more than 23,000 endoscopy procedures across its three hospital sites.
