Leicester shuttle bus wins award

A SHUTTLE bus that runs between Leicester's hospitals has beaten more than 500 other national nominations to win a Green Apple Environment Award. The awards are organised by The Green Organisation and aim to recognise and promote environmental best practice. Ruth Ward, travel manager at University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust, said: "We're so pleased to have been recognised for the hard work we put in to provide the Hopper service. The Hopper really helps our staff, patients and visitors to reduce the amount they use their cars and now that we link with the park-and-ride hub visitors from all over the county can benefit." The Hopper is also being considered to represent the country in the European Business Awards for the environment.
