SATRA has appointed software specialist Dr Jack Ho to the new position of Electronics & Computer Systems Manager. Dr Ho has been brought in to develop new software products to bring to market and maintain and upgrade existing systems, including SATRA's production efficiency software.
Before joining SATRA, Dr Ho worked at Crispin for 21 years, developing shoe pattern engineering software for the footwear market.
Dr Ho has a PhD in CADCAM and is a Chartered Mechanical Engineer; while working at Crispin, he set up a Monitored Professional Development Scheme (MPDS) to train developing engineers. As a mentor for the MPDS scheme, Dr Ho helped to support developing engineers through their Initial Professional Development towards Chartered Engineer (CEng) or Incorporated Engineer (IEng) registration.
Dr Ho volunteers as a GCSE Chinese teacher and is also the president of the UK Federation of Chinese Schools.
