The non-profit organisation Scannappeal has launched a £2m fundraising campaign ahead of a major redevelopment at Wycombe Hospital.
The campaign aims to help raise essential funds ahead of the total revamp of the hospital’s facilities, which aims to start construction in early 2026.
The fundraising drive has been announced alongside long-term plans for improvements at the hospital site, which include proposals to replace or upgrade ageing infrastructure and provide new clinical spaces.
Organisers of the campaign have set an initial target of £2m, which they say will support funding new diagnostic and treatment equipment, including advanced imaging technology and tools for minimally invasive procedures.
Further details on how the funds will be used and who is leading the fundraising effort have not yet been published.
Local supporters and community groups are expected to be involved in future events and activities designed to help reach the campaign’s target.
Timeline for redevelopment of Wycombe Hospital
The hospital’s redevelopment plans are part of a wider initiative to improve the Wycombe site with infrastructure repairs and preparatory works.
Currently, the Trust said that there is more than £260m in overdue maintenance needed to revamp Wycombe Hospital.
In November, Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust chose MTX Contracts for developing the new Wycombe Hospital facility.
The six-storey building will enable core services to move out of the current Wycombe Tower Block which is unfit for long-term use.
The new facility will deliver a range of vital services including cardiology, stroke-care, operating theatres and critical care in future phases of the project once further funding has been secured.
Construction is planned to start in early 2026 with the opening of the first new clinical facility, an Endoscopy Department supported by a £20m investment in NHS England, planned for 2027.
