P+HS Architects designs new facility in Pocklington

A new surgery for the market town of Pocklington is progressing rapidly and is currently out to tender for the contract to build the new BREEAM ‘excellent’-rated building.

Developed by the GPs, the new facility will replace existing cramped accommodation, which is spread over several outdated buildings, significantly improving access for patients and providing increased capacity for the expanding practice.

The dynamic, modern design includes spacious and welcoming reception/waiting areas, high-quality consulting and treatment rooms, a minor operations suite, an on-site pharmacy and substantially-improved car parking. It also provides greater opportunities for the delivery of better integrated services with community providers, as well as secondary care.

The scheme is currently estimated to start on site in late 2013 and complete towards the end of 2014. The GPs have appointed Aspect 4 as project managers/cost consultants and P+HS as architects.
