A new audiology hub has officially opened at Lister Hospital, following a major refurbishment project delivered for East and North Hertfordshire Teaching NHS Trust.
The facility offers a patient-focused environment for audiology services, with the project team completing the scheme under tight NHS budget constraints.
The refurbishment was delivered by a multidisciplinary team including IKON Architects, R&B Refurbishment, Wallace Whittle, Adkins Consultants, Walker Cotter Safety and QuietStar Limited.
Main contractor R&B Refurbishment led construction works, while Wallace Whittle provided MEP engineering services and Adkins Consultants delivered structural engineering support.
IKON Architects also worked on the scheme alongside clinical leads Dawn Bramham and Jodie McElligott, with estates representatives Alison Morris, John Brierley and Stephen Farquhar supporting project delivery on behalf of the Trust.
The new hub forms part of the Trust’s wider investment in healthcare environments designed to improve patient experience and support clinical teams with upgraded facilities and specialist equipment.
The opening follows IKON Architects’ earlier appointment to design new paediatric and audiology facilities for the Trust.
East and North Hertfordshire Teaching NHS Trust said the new facility will support patients requiring hearing assessments, rehabilitation and specialist audiology care in a modernised clinical setting at Lister Hospital.
