Rotherham, Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust (RDaSH) has opened a new facility focused on mental health, neurodiversity and children’s services in North Lincolnshire

Rotherham, Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust (RDaSH) has officially opened its new mental health and children’s services hub at Elizabeth Quarter in Scunthorpe town centre.

The facility brings multiple NHS services focused on mental health, neurodiversity and children’s care together under one roof.

An opening event took place on 8th January with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by NHS leaders, staff and local partners.

The new site replaces a number of previously dispersed locations, consolidating services into a modern, centrally located environment.

The new NHS facility was constructed by Galliford Try as part of the Elizabeth Quarter regeneration scheme.

Community services offered at the facility

The Elizabeth Quarter facility will host a range of NHS services, including Talking Therapies for anxiety and depression, learning disability and neurodiversity services, and children and young people’s mental health support.

By co-locating teams, RDaSH aims to make it easier for patients and families to access care while supporting closer collaboration between clinical services.

According to the trust, the move reflects a wider NHS strategy to deliver care closer to home and away from traditional hospital settings, particularly for mental health and community services.

Supporting town-centre regeneration

The opening has also been welcomed as part of wider efforts to revitalise Scunthorpe’s town centre, which is undergoing a regeneration scheme that  includes the football stadium and surrounding development.

Local leaders have described the development as a positive example of public services contributing to regeneration while improving healthcare delivery.

The facility is now fully operational, with services already seeing patients from the new location.
