Imprivata shares key company and customer highlights driven by healthcare’s most comprehensive digital identity portfolio built for the NHS

More than 65% of NHS Trusts in England now use Imprivata Enterprise Access Management (formerly OneSign and Confirm ID)

Imprivata, the digital identity company for life-and mission-critical industries, is pleased to share key UK performance and customer highlights as it extends its digital identity solutions to include virtual smartcards and further information governance capabilities.

Building on the impressive momentum of 2023, the company delivered 10% growth in customer adoption as many implemented new solutions to augment existing Imprivata Enterprise Access Management (formerly OneSign and Confirm ID) deployments. Over 65% of NHS Trusts in England now use Imprivata Enterprise Access Management (EAM) to provide fast, secure access to patient data at the point of care, saving significant time for clinicians and improving patient and clinician experience.

Originally developed to help healthcare organisations provide fast remote access to clinicians during the pandemic, EAM with virtual smartcards take up significantly less resources for ICT, removing issues such as sourcing physical cards, printers, consumables, and card readers, as well as providing a better experience for users.

Enterprise Access Management with virtual smartcards can now be generated using NHS Care Identity Management as well as existing Care Identity Service without new or additional configuration required.

New Imprivata CEO

On December 11, 2023, Imprivata announced a strategic leadership transition and welcomed Fran Rosch as the new CEO. Fran brings a wealth of experience in cybersecurity and digital identity, having successfully led technology companies through growth and SaaS transformations. His recent role in helping ForgeRock complete a successful IPO and merger into Ping, under the Thoma Bravo family, further underscores his capabilities. Fran’s background also includes tremendous service at cybersecurity companies Symantec and Verisign.

New VP International Sales

At the same time, Adam Bangle joined Imprivata as Vice President of International Sales. An experienced leader in the computer, SaaS, and network security industry, Adam brings a demonstrated history of success in enterprise software sales, strategic alliances, go-to-market execution, and M&A.

“I’m delighted to join an organisation so focused on customers and developing innovative solutions that optimise both end-user time and security,” said Adam. “I look forward to steering Imprivata’s international business as we continue to help clinicians harness technology to deliver patient care across the entire healthcare ecosystem.”

Notable customer success

Several of Imprivata’s customers were recently recognised for driving impressive clinical efficiency, including:

  • Ireland’s Health Service Executive (HSE) and Tallaght University Hospital (TUH), which won Best Use of Information Technology at the Irish Healthcare Awards for their country-wide implementation of EAM
  • The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust, which won Innovation of the Year in the Health Tech Awards for their work to overcome slow log-in times that poorly impact clinician adoption and patient care. Now, 1,700 clinicians across the Trust save 139 hours per week, collectively, by leveraging badge-tap access to their Epic electronic patient record (EPR) from workstations, kiosks, and devices.
  • County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust, which implemented Imprivata Enterprise Access Management and Imprivata Mobile Device Access for 600 daily users of its Android shared mobile devices. Emma Arrowsmith, Digital Matron at CDDFT explained, “The Imprivata tap-in, tap-off process has become very much normal practice for our staff. No-one talks about it because it’s quick, it gives them access at the bedside as they need it. It is only mentioned when staff are frustrated by having to work in an area which has yet to implement single sign-on.”
