University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust has made new installations at its new Plymouth CDC, which opened to the public in June 2026.
The Trust has installed two new X-ray machines from MIS Healthcare. MIS’s Clinical Sales Specialist, Liam Hamilton, revealed that these were the GC85 systems.
MIS Healthcare is a UK-based distributor and service provider of medical imaging, diagnostic technologies, and IT solutions. Headquartered in London, the company supplies hospitals, clinics, and veterinary practices across the UK and the Republic of Ireland.
The CDC is located in the centre of Plymouth. This central location fits in nicely with the NHS’s 10-year plan to move more of healthcare out of hospitals and into the community.
Building Better Healthcare visited the Plymouth CDC before opening, and gave an exclusive report on BAM UK & Ireland’s journey to build this new facility in partnership with the Trust.
The largely unused plot, which has been so for 40 years, was transformed into the £21.96m CDC by the construction experts over a short window. BAM was appointed to the project in 2024.
The site was then opened in June this year, and began providing diagnostic services to the public.
The Trust stated in a LinkedIn post that the CDC team is “looking forward to application training across all of our modalities in the next couple of weeks to support the successful opening of the new facility later this month.”
The post also reinforced that the X-ray team is looking forward to developing “a new working relationship with Liam Hamilton, Ethan Jones and the wider MIS team.”
